Trevor Lawrence wants to “Right the Wrong” of 2022 and win in London against the Falcons

As the Jacksonville Jaguars prepared for their first London game of 2023 against the Atlanta Falcons taking place this Sunday, Decyfr spoke to quarterback Trevor Lawrence and head coach Doug Pederson after their Friday practice.

The Jaguars are set to make history by becoming the first team to play back-to-back matches overseas, with a trip to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to take on the Buffalo Bills scheduled for October 8th.

Speaking ahead of their week four game, Lawrence spoke of his intentions for the next two weeks: “We’ll hopefully be the first team to win two games in a row here, that would be great for us.”

Lawrence was also critical of last year’s performance in London, when his team lost to the Denver Broncos on their return to Wembley Stadium, after a three-year absence. Lawrence is keen to redeem himself this time around: “Last year we didn’t play great, personally myself I didn’t play great. We need to go back to the drawing board and right that wrong, so I’m looking forward to get that opportunity to play here again.”

Speaking to Decyfr, head coach Doug Pederson expressed excitement around the ten-year relationship the Jaguars have built with the UK since 2013. “I think it’s pretty special. It’s great for the Jaguars organisation, our owner Mr. Khan, and we’ve got a pretty good following over here. With this being our home game we should have a really good crowd. Coming over here is something the organisation really looks forward to every year.”
